This is probably not for you if you are worried about voiding the warranty of your Huawei, you would never take the chance of bricking your device (although the odds are low), and if you master your phone completely in a manner that’s unsafe. Note that the latter can be considered, both an advantage and disadvantage because it’s a bit of a double-edged sword. It’s great if you know what you are doing, and don’t change any settings in a way that would adversely affect your phone. You will also want to be extra careful to avoid any malware that may harm your phone; as with greater privilege, the destructive software could hurt your device more deeply. Those things aside, rooting your Ascend can make it more enjoyable and exciting. And there are various methods, some easier or faster than others, and some that may work better for your model. We will discuss several kinds. Before We Begin:

Verify your device model number.Know that rooting voids your warranty.Download and install USB drivers on your computer.A full backup of your Huawei Ascend should take place before you ever start the rooting process.

Method 1: How to Root Huawei Ascend Using Kingo Root Without PC

We will include options both for rooting with and without a PC. If you would prefer to use a computer, please see Method 2. For convenience, it’s recommended that you try the APK file without the PC first. Your Huawei will need to have access to Wi-Fi or a data Internet connection. However, the PC method may prove to be more reliable if you experience problems.

Step 1: Unlock Bootloader

Rooting may not even be possible with a locked bootloader.

Step 2: Enable Unknown Sources

This is necessary so that you can download apps outside of Google Play. Another term for this is side loading. Go to Settings > Security > Unknown Sources.

Step 3: Check Charge

Ensure your phone has 50% charge or greater.

Step 4: Download APK

Download the KingoRoot.apk. Download: Kingo Root APK

Step 5: Open Kingo Root

Do wait until installation finishes before attempting to open the app.

Step 6: Begin Rooting

Tap the Root button. A result will soon display.

Step 7: Try Again, If Necessary

If the root still isn’t successful after several attempts, try rooting with the PC version described in the next method.

Method 2: How to Root Huawei Ascend Using Kingo Root

This method can be accomplished without a PC; but if you prefer to use one, that is an option as well. That PC does need to be running Windows for this method to work. You will have to connect your Huawei to your computer using a USB cable. You will also need an Internet connection, and your Ascend will likely have to have an unlocked bootloader.

Step 1: Allow Installation from Unknown Sources

Visit Settings > Security > Unknown Sources.

Step 2: Charge Phone

Charge your phone battery to at least 50%. If your phone dies during the rooting process, it can cause rooting to fail among other problems.

Step 3: Temporarily Disable Security

Firewalls or antivirus software may incorrectly perceive Kingo Root as a threat to your computer. The method by which you complete this step depends on your version of Windows and the software itself, but the Start button or taskbar can be a good starting point. Don’t forget to turn it back on when you are done.

Step 4: Enable USB Debugging

Go to Settings > About Phone > Build Number. Now tap Build Number seven times. Return to Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging and enable the option.

Step 5: Check Compatibility

Kingo Root provides a list of supported devices. If your device is not on the list, this method may still work, but there is no guarantee.

Step 6: Download App

Install the Kingo Root app to your computer by clicking on the .exe file and running the setup. Download: Kingo Root App for PC

Step 7: Launch Kingo Root

After you have complete setup through the wizard provided, open Kingo Root.

Step 9: Connect Huawei

The Kingo Root software should detect your device. If it doesn’t, check your USB connection.

Step 10: Finished

Kingo Root will inform you whether rooting was successful or if it wasn’t.

Method 3: How to Root Huawei Ascend Using One Click Root

One Click Root may be the best option for you regarding support. In addition to 24/7 rooting services, it also makes repair, unrooting, and customization after rooting available. The company provides a refund if they can’t root your device. But yes, this means it isn’t free. And keep in mind that support for newer devices (5.0 and above) is offered on a device-by-device basis. A free scan is available via download.

Step 1: Install One Click Root

Download the software to your PC or this also works on Macs. Download: One Click Root

Step 2: Connect Ascend

Attach your Huawei to your computer using a compatible USB cable.

Step 3: Enable USB Debugging

This option is available from Developer Options in Settings. If you haven’t done so already, go to Settings > About Phone and tap Build Number seven times to activate the setting.

Step 4: Open One Click Root

The software will guide you through the rest of the process.

Method 4: How to Root Huawei Ascend Using iRoot

This rooting method works within the range of Android 4.0 to 4.4. It also offers options for rooting from a PC or downloading an APK directly to your phone. It boasts of a high success rate, and the Ascends are listed among compatible devices, along with numerous other Huawei devices.

Step 1: Download iRoot

Download iRoot on your PC or the iRoot APK on your Huawei. This is another root supported by Chinese developers, so English may be choppy at times. There is certainly enough English to get by, however.

Step 2: If Necessary, Connect Your Ascend

If you are using the PC version, use a USB cable to connect your phone. If you are using the APK downloaded directly to your phone, there’s no reason to.

Step 3: Check Connection

iRoot should recognize your Huawei and the Root button should appear.

Step 4: Click Root Now

The software will complete the process for you. When complete, remove the USB cable from the phone and PC if necessary.

Step 5: Reboot Your Device

It will probably restart automatically, but in case it needs a little help, manually reboot the phone.

Method 5: How to Root Your Huawei Ascend G7 L01/L03 Using ADB

One of the smart developers on XDA figured this one out. This method uses ADB, which must be installed, but the link is given below. Make sure you have enough battery charge! Download: ADB/Fastboot

Step 1: Unlock Bootloader

You can request a bootloader unlock code from Huawei; just keep in mind it can take a while.

Step 15: Boot into Recovery

Type: fastboot boot recovery twrp.img

Step 16: Enter Fastboot Reboot

Your phone will reboot again.
