All the fax apps for Android either are paid services or require in-app purchases. To be honest I was surprised to find one or two apps that allow you to send a sample fax before purchasing. Anyways the performance of the apps I tested is not up to the mark. Even the best of the 20 or so apps I tested were hit or miss. Sending documents which thankfully include PDF files is very well managed. The app has full support for the United States and Canada while many European countries are also included on the list. Some Asian and African countries are yet to be officially supported. Notable Feature: FaxFile is a polite app and notifies you if a fax doesn’t go through. This feature thankfully also doesn’t cost you anything and the app will try again after a while. A good practice is to call the number and verify that the receiver machine is actually turned on or not.

PC-FAX is an app which is the only remotely free app and still it only allows a free fax per day. While this may not be much for other apps on the Play Store, it is certainly a big deal in a genre where every app wants your money first. This neat little feature can’t be great for those who fax regularly but it will prove priceless for those who want a test drive before full commitment. Do you value a good interface which is easy to understand and amazing for daily use? Then get Genius Fax as it provides it all. The app is designed really well with fast faxes in mind. Tap the “+” button and you are ready to send a fax. Selecting a document from anywhere on your Android device and sending it as a fax is done with ease. Just don’t forget to add the recipient fax number and you are ready to roll. One of the best things about the app is that while it charges credits for each page, the cover page is always free. This is not a dedicated fax app but it is still one of the best fax apps for Android around. This app can scan documents, let you edit them and even sign them. If you work in an office, you will be all too familiar with this kind of process. Boss needs to sign a deal which needs to be faxed etc. Thankfully this app is capable of doing all sorts of jobs with ease. The free version of the app limits the exports to 5 pages only. I would have tolerated that but those 5 pages come with watermarks effectively making them utterly useless in a professional scenario. The limitations can be removed via in-app purchases on the free app or you can spring money for the paid version.

Fax Pro is an aesthetically pleasing app which does the job with reliability. The app aims to turn your smartphone into a portable fax station at a very affordable cost. Fax Pro is able to get documents from almost any source; either it’s from a USB attached with an On the Go cable or a popular cloud storage service the app can make it a fax. Even if you are in another app, simply selecting the share with Fax Pro option will allow you to make that document a fax ready one. In-app Purchases: $0.99 – $200.00 per item Features:
Guaranteed fax delivery is reassuring. Can extract PDF documents from emails. You can create a new text file and send as fax.
Notable Feature: The app has the ability to send very large files as well. This means you don’t have to worry about the length of the fax spree.

While the best fax apps for Android are not exactly the best way to send a fax. I believe when in need, these apps will help you in a tight spot.
